Pet dog tags, or also known as pet id dog tags are small-sized flat tags that are worn by the pets on their harnesses or collars. It is considered very important that pet masters and owners place these tags on their dogs.

Humane animal societies as well as rescue groups and organizations high recommend that your pet dogs and even cats wear these pet dog tags for a very important reason which is to provide important information about the dog and its master. These pet id dog tags actually has in them vital information such as contact details that will help anyone get in touch with stray animals’ owners.

There is one disadvantage of pet dog tags; there are people who do not like to use them on their dogs or cats simply because they create irritating jingling noise as the pets move about. However, there is now the collar mounted dog tag, the riveted type to the surface of the collar and flat shaped and hence minimizes if not eliminates the noise problem. Miniature dog breeds such as the Chihuahua or Shitzu are very popular as they are known to be easier and much less expensive to take care of. Dogs of small size means there is less fur shedding, and therefore less mess. However, don’t think of miniature dogs as delicate and feeble. The fact is that many of them are very tough and can hardy, and so it can be really a delight that not too much care is needed when one decides on having a small dog for a pet.

Tiny dogs are wonderful and amiable pets; in fact there are a lot of different small dog breeds for everyone to choose from. If you want a toy dog breed then there is the Chihuahua which is one of the most popular toy dogs around. The same can be said with the Shih Tzu. The poodle is also a dog that belongs to the toy breed although there is another type of poodle, the one belonging to the standard size.

Miniature dog breeds actually make for great companions to their pet masters, and because of their size are the most sought after dog breed for those living on limited spaces. And although many small dogs are stubborn and can be hard to train, some small dog breeds are very trainable, especially the Poodle and Terrier.

One thing I love about small dogs is that they are a noisy bunch especially if alarmed by the presence of strangers – this makes them perfect watch dog. Great watchdogs belonging to the small breeds are the Terrier, Poodle and of course the Shitzu. Miniature dog breeds are very alert and will not hesitate to bark at someone especially total strangers and individuals making unusual moves or exhibiting behavior that’s suspect.
