The cute Pug belongs to the toy dog breed possessing a wrinkled face and small to medium sized built. The name have been thought of as a derivation of the Old English word pug, which affectionately means playful little monkey. Pug’s cute puppies are known as puglets.

This current toy dog breed have evolved from the 18th century lean type to the present square, compact form type, with well-developed overall muscles. The pug’s head is round and is accentuated by their big bulging, dark-colored eyes. Also noticeable on their face are the deep wrinkles present on their forehead. Pugs proudly display their fine coats, which are varied in color such as black, silver and apricot.

The pug as a pet dog is such a great and reliable companion. Even if it possesses a stern facial expression, this cannot hide the Pug’s sense of playfulness and fun. Pugs are normally sociable pet dogs; they are amiable, playful and very easy to get along with.

They are also a very intelligent dog breed, and are well-known for their ease in passing pet dog obedience trainings. Pugs are also quite sensitive especially the oral reprimand from their masters, so such punishments should be avoided.

The sociable pugs not only get along with their masters and the people around them; they also can be harmoniously side by side with other pet dogs. Still, they much prefer human companionship and seemingly require lots of attention from their owners. Indeed, pugs are very loving pet dogs and will always want to be on their masters’ side, following them around.
