Ringworm on Your Pet Dogs
Considered a common disease among pets, our dogs are definitely not exempted from having ringworm.
To those not familiar with it, pet ringworm is not the wriggly parasite that we know but actually a skin fungi.
How does it develop on our pet dogs? If your dog is not regularly well-kept and groomed, the possibility is great for dead skin tissues to develop on your dog. Consequently, the fungi will appear and thrive on these dead tissues, creating circular-shaped patches.
Ringworm is very infectious; usually your pet dog gets infected from its surrounding such as the ill-kept garden and kennels. Likewise, it can get infected by other pet animals it interacts with.
What is the sign that your pet dog has ringworm? You have an infected dog if its skin already has lesions appearing in circular patch. Hair is also missing in these affected areas. Usually the fungi affects your dog’s tail, ear, face and paw areas.
There are available pet medication that effects in treating your dog of this illness. Bring your pet dog to the veterinarian at the earliest time possible for examination and appropriate treatment.
It is also imperative that contact with infected pets as well as the items that it had contact with should be avoided as there is great possibility of infection.
