Dealing with Your Pet Cat’s Flea Problem
July 24, 2007 |
We all adore our pet cats - as much as possible, we want them to always be healthy and free from parasites such as ticks and fleas.
Considered as health menaces to cats, ticks and fleas are indeed a health inconvenience to them. This is a reason why we should administer pet medication to our pet cats at the first sign of ticks and fleas.
Definitely, professional advise and pet medication are what we should seek from the veterinarian once infestation on our pet sets in. Of course, we must realize that if our pet cats get infested by ticks and fleas, our houses will also be infested by these pests. And while we ourselves don’t get infested, we will most likely experience irritating bites from them.
One effective pet medication for your cats is some external or topical lotion which your veterinarian can prescribe for them. Such lotions are usually rubbed on your pet’s skin regularly until your cat becomes flea-free.
Aside from specific pet medication, there are other means of getting rid of fleas such as flea combs and collars. Flea shampoos and sprays are also effective in killing fleas and ticks. Just remember to use anti-flea sprays on your house - in all infested areas - just to make sure that your treated cat will not get infested again.
Always seek the professional help of the veterinarian regarding the pet medicine and products. They definitely know what’s the most appropriate solution to your pet cat’s flea problem. Â
